Housing Stability
Southside Community Center has several housing programs ranging from emergency assistance to helping unhoused neighbors move into permanent, stable housing.
Transitional Shelter Program
This program is designed to help individuals and families move into permanent, stable housing. We review applications to identify candidates who are the best fit for our program. Upon acceptance, clients must undergo a drug screening. They will also sign a 30-day contract, which is subject to renewal based on their compliance with case management staff and adherence to the shelter’s rules. After no more than 60 days, shelter residents will be assisted in moving into permanent housing.
Emergency Assistance & Eviction Prevention
These programs both assist with rental and/or utility payments.
Emergency Assistance is a one-time program mostly supporting those with bills under $500. This program is open to all Hays County residents.
Eviction Prevention is limited to San Marcos residents and provides financial as well as case management support for 1-3 months.
To apply for either of these programs, please book an appointment and fill out the form provided afterward.
